The Philosophies ...

Mr. Damon is blunt & goes straight to the heart of the matter here. Creativity is a core value and should never, ever be suppressed or discouraged by any educator who is, in fact, an educator, and not focused on schooling someone.
The time for this kind of approach to education has come & gone. Everyone should have the opportunity to invest in a broad based education that will serve him/her well for all time.
Education throughout most of human history was not rote: it was imparting upon young minds the principles, values, & mindset that encouraged them to bring out their inner genius, focus on their gift sets, & work towards being a difference maker.
A historical view that rings just as true in the mid 2010's as it did when it was first said. Think about it: Do we want empowered & autonomous citizens who can solve their own problems, overcome their own challenges, and realize their visions?
We need a well educated, not a highly trained, society. In the former resides education; in the latter, we find schooling.
Numerous perspectives from years ago. One of the most important things a person can ever do is read. And, read; and, read ... a LOT.

Education is for life.

Education in the Sharing/Gig Economy doesn't have an expiration date.

Keep growing until your pulse stops beating!

This equation :

Credentials = Education  ( "proof of credentials/paper" )

... no longer automatically applies. In fact, it is often counterproductive!

Rather, its all about bite sized learning, over time, and at a manageable investment amount ($) which anyone can afford.

Mentorship takes you further than you could ever go alone.

Are you being mentored?

Mentors are beyond helpful when it comes to helping mentee(s) with blind spots in their personal, professional, and/or faith/spiritual lives.
